In early October, senior leaders at UBC Child Care Vancouver participated in a half-day workshop, Building an Accountable Workplace, facilitated by Ablaze Services. The workshop, which our Child Care colleagues highly recommend, covered topics such as bystander training, calling people “in” and “out”, and consensual feedback.

Additionally, the Child Care management team continues to collaborate closely with the Early Childhood Pedagogy Network and deepen their engagement with their pedagogical commitment to a feminist ethics of care, which emphasizes caring for and about others, including human, non-human and non-living beings. To support this commitment, every Wednesday, senior leaders will gather to read and journal in relation to this topic. They held their first session in October and are energized by the journey ahead.
