In mid-November 2025, members of UBC Vancouver’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) sent six delegates to the Pacific Association of College and University Hall’s (PACURH) Regional Leadership Conference in San Diego, California. Many congratulations to the two student leaders and the Student Residence staff member who were recognized for their significant contributions to our residence communities:
- Samantha Smyth (student) was recognized with a three-year service pin for her contributions on the Totem Park Residence Association, RHA Executive and PACURH Board.
- Jason Basnyat (student) was recognized with a Silver Diamond pin for outstanding leadership to the PACURH region and a four-year service pin for his contributions on the Ponderosa Commons Residence Association, RHA Executive and PACURH Board.
- Gillian Wallis, Manager, Residence Transition and Community Engagement, who recently served as the acting RHA Advisor, was recognized with a Golden Frog Pin, awarded for exceptional service or significant contributions.
