The SHCS Staff Newsletter is distributed to roughly 2,000 SHCS staff on the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.

Sent to our employees’ UBC email addresses, it goes out five times per year—with leadership memos going out on some alternating months and a break over the summer.

  • September newsletter—submissions due by August 31.
  • November newsletter—submissions due by October 31.
  • February newsletter—submissions due by January 31.
  • April newsletter—submissions due by March 31.
  • June newsletter—submissions due by May 31.

Have something you’d like to share with the SHCS community? We’d love to hear about it! We’re interested in recent updates, news or story ideas from across SHCS—operational and support departments, Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Our operational departments: Bookstore, Campus Mail, Child Care, Conferences and Accommodation, Facilities and Building Services, Food, Parking, Residence Life and Administration.

Our support departments: Finance, Purchasing and Payroll; HR; IT; Occupational Health and Safety; Marketing and Communications.

Content ideas

  • Operations, project or programming updates.
  • Capital project updates.
  • Departmental announcements or success stories.
  • Our people—new staff welcomes, retirements, baby announcements, awards, staff profiles.
  • New posts or content from your department’s website.
