On Tuesday May 31, SHCS Building Services invited select leaders from SHCS and across UBC Vancouver to attend a sensitivity training workshop and learn more about the Deaf, DeafBlind and hard of hearing cultures – in order to promote and support stronger communication, accessibility and inclusion in the workplace. The interactive training covered many topics, including workplace barriers, technology and accommodations, the use of sign language interpreters, and communication tips and strategies. Thank you to the Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility for facilitating the training and to all of the participants who will help to pass this important knowledge back to their teams.
