UBC is hosting a Canadian Blood Services blood donation event on Thursday, March 9 from 11:00 am–5:30 pm at The Nest. If you would like to donate blood, please consider donating as part of the Frankie G Partners for Life team.

“My son Frankie passed away on May 14, 2013, shortly after his first birthday, from Mitochondrial Disease. While he was at BC Children’s Hospital, Frankie needed blood products daily and eventually a blood transfusion. We started a Partners for Life group in memory of Frankie. Over the years, we’ve had family, friends and people we don’t know join the PFL group which has been great! Most people don’t donate blood unless they know of someone who has needed blood so I’ve been trying to get the word out about the importance of blood donation.
