This August, we opened an amazing campus facility. Orchard Commons is our newest student residence, home to UBC Vantage College, 1,047 student residents, and our favourite place to eat on campus, Open Kitchen.
While there is ongoing construction work at Orchard Commons, the facility is now fully operational – a vibrant community of student residents, Open Kitchen serving up delicious food daily, and UBC Vantage College in its new home. Hero Café in the Open Kitchen dining room will be opening in the coming months.
Orchard Commons is LEED Gold certified and was designed by architecture firm Perkins+Will, with facility design by Stephen Tyler Consulting, and Open Kitchen branding by Glasfurd & Walker.
