Coming out of the pandemic, the UBC Food Services’ Sage team has pivoted to focusing 100% on providing catering at some of the Vancouver campus’s best loved venues, including the University Centre, where Sage Bistro used to operate.
We now provide full-service catering for more than 1,000 events and weddings on campus every year.
Sage Campus Delivery
New for 2025, we are now offering a campus drop delivery service, Sage Campus Delivery, which includes menus perfect for meetings or events, such as pastries, delicious salads, sandwiches, hot lunch packages, desserts and more.
Sustainability and climate
Committed to SHCS and UBC’s Climate Action Plans, and UBC Food Services’ Vision and Values, we’ve taken several steps to ensure the service is the most sustainable option for catering on campus:
- Reusable containers: we’re using 100% reusable containers to support UBC’s zero waste goals.
- Lower-carbon proteins: our delicious and diverse menu emphasizes lower carbon proteins such as plant-based proteins, poultry and OceanWise fish, and it does not include any beef or lamb.
- Menu design: plant-based protein options are prominent in each section of the menu and we’ve integrated UBC’s climate friendly food labels.
- Local food suppliers: we order from numerous local food suppliers, including fruits and vegetables from the UBC Farm, locally roasted coffee, plant-based seafood and more.
- Emissions reductions: by offering an on-campus catering delivery service, we’re helping the campus community reduce emissions from external providers driving to and from campus. Plus, we’re also exploring the transition to electric fleet vehicles.
Financial value for UBC departments
UBC departments can save the GST and conveniently pay by Workday worktag, and every purchase supports UBC’s academic mission, since revenues contribute to SHCS’s financial contributions to the university.

Retail Catering
Food Services will also continue to offer a retail catering service in partnership with popular brands on campus like Tim Horton’s, Starbucks, Subway, Triple O’s, Mercante and more.
