On Sunday January 28, the UBC Okanagan Residence Advisor team had the opportunity to explore the Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada and hear a presentation orienting staff to the host nation, the Syilx Okanagan Nation. This guided session with Educational Facilitator Naim Cardinal, from UBC Okanagan’s Indigenous Programs and Services, allowed all 85 Residence Advisors to explore the massive, 11 metre x 8 metre atlas in the Nechako Residence Commonsblock gathering room.
