A core focus of the Vice President, Students (VPS) portfolio is the advancement of equity, diversity, inclusive excellence, decolonization, and anti-racism. To continue to support our work and commitment in these areas, the VPS has formed a VPS Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism Committee.
Our SHCS colleagues Krista Power and Jen Dowdeswell are part of this new committee, led by Keith Kawa and Samantha Reid, with additional members from across the VPS, including Rohene Bouajram, Associate Director Strategic IBPOC Initiatives. This committee will lead the development of the VPS EDI framework, and identify opportunities, supports, and best approaches in the advancement of our work—in alignment with the Student Strategic Plan (SSP), Inclusion Action Plan (IAP), Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP), ARIE Task Force Report, and the Strategic Equity and Anti-Racism (StEAR) Framework.
