In case you were not able to attend the recent all-VPS meeting or SHCS Town Hall, you may have missed some exciting news about residence dining for the upcoming 2022/23 Winter Session.
Following a successful launch of All Access Dining at UBC Okanagan in fall 2021, this September we will be introducing All Access Dining for the students living in our first year residence communities at UBC Vancouver: Orchard Commons, Place Vanier and Totem Park.
The first year residents in these communities have a required meal plan and dine with us for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. This new All Access meal plan will deliver significantly improved value, also improving wellbeing and sustainability at many levels.
Key features
For less than $27 per day, students will be able to dine with us as often as they want and eat as much or as little as they want. As before, they can choose to eat at any of our residence dining rooms: Feast, Gather or Open Kitchen.
In addition to unlimited dining, the plan will include $500 that students can use at select locations elsewhere on campus.
An enhanced student experience
All Access Dining is focused on providing a dine-in experience, emphasizing the role of our dining rooms in building community among our residents.
Importantly, we have been working closely with a consulting group, Kaizen Consulting, and have completed numerous stakeholder engagement sessions with student leaders, along with faculty and staff, to ensure we get it right.
We are extremely excited about the new first year meal plan and the many benefits it will bring, improving the overall student experience at UBC.
