We would like to extend a big welcome to Lisa Fisher, who joined SHCS as the new Director, Marketing and Communications on November 1, 2021.
Lisa brings a wealth of marketing and communications experience and expertise to SHCS, including in areas of marketing, strategic planning, team leadership and development, brand management, digital platforms, media relations, analytics, and innovation, both in the post-secondary and private sector.
She has a solid reputation as one who believes in the value of relationships and partnerships, who provides sage opinion, who likes to challenge the status quo, who brings a strong voice for students to the discussion, who uses evidence to support a position or decision, and who is appropriately risk considerate. Lisa holds a MSc in Global Marketing from the University of Liverpool, and a BA from UBC.
With these and many other skills we look forward to having Lisa bring new opportunities and innovation to SHCS and to challenge us to be even better.

Lisa has joined us from Langara College where she held the position of Director, Communications and Marketing for the institution and where she was also the interim Vice President, External Development for 10 months. Prior to working at Langara, she actually worked right here at UBC in the office of International Student Initiative and with central communications as Brand Manager.
